Critical Review of Ageing Clocks

Highlights

As research on longevity and personalized medicine accelerates, biological or “aging” clocks have become central to how we quantify the pace of human aging.

 This 2024 review by Min et al. systematically examines the main types of aging clocks — from DNA methylation and proteomic models to microbiome, immune, and imaging-based approaches — highlighting how they differ in what they measure, how accurate they are, and how (or whether) their outputs can be compared.
